Five ways to improve landing-pages

Five ways :

1. No more Landing-pages – focus on user experience

Stop thinking in terms of landing pages and focus on creating conversion-focussed experiences.

Its hard to convince when you dump them on a single page. But a well designed conversion experience can seduce a lot more conversions from your audience by creating a relevant path from the click-through to the conversion.

2. Message-match

Make sure your ad message and the landing page match.
If you build trust you will automatically build desire.Give them what you promise.

3. Keep it Simple

When the users click on a banner , email or an ad , its is a split-second impulse. When they come to the landing page make sure they are not confused with too many choices.SO create an experience that keeps them in the split second flow and present them with simple and relevant choices.

4. Offer Choice

Offer only a couple of choices instead of a myriad of choices.Giving the users relevant choices make the experience relevant and ultimately will increase the conversions.

5. Think apples to oranges – testing and test and test….

focus on testing the right elements of the landing page. If you are teasing fonts more than choices offered then you may be wasting your time. If you want to improve conversions then make sure you area testing the user experiences more than anything else.

Online Marketing

How to increase Landing-page Conversions?

1. QUICK READ

Landing pages should directly connect with the customers with relevant search data.

Created 4 different Landing-pages.
All had some similarities.
All had some major differences.

The version with the bulleted points increased conversions by 62% and decreased abandonment by 40%.
The version with links increased conversion by 10%.
Interestingly , the one with the teaser (top 5 baby names) reduced conversions by 2%.

5. LESSONS LEARNED

L1. Convince a visitor within 7 to 10 seconds.
L2. Site testing must be ongoing.
L3. target blocks of content to target customers individually. Example : A parent with a toddler vs a newly pregnant visitor looks for names have to be served differently.

Search Engine Marketing

Q : I want to attrack searchers to my website. How do I do this ?

A : Search marketing…

Q : what is search marketing?

A : Its the way you attract searchers to your website.

Lets look at it in detail…. We should understand about how web search works and where do these searchers fish around for information?

Search is of two kinds :

1. Organic Search

The best results that you get based on the keywords that you use to search.

2. Paid Search

You pay to the search engines to attract searchers. Forms of paid searches :

Paid inclusion – guaranteed inclusion when an organic search matches closely.

Paid placement – page is shown regardless of how closely the search matches.

Paid listings – manually maintained by site managers/editors/owners and the listing is based on the subject.

How do you join the “Search” with “marketing mix” ?

Lets look at it….

One of the key reasons is that searchers are looking to buy a product. If you are trying to sell a product and your product doesn’t show up on the internet then you are loosing a great deal of customers. Gone are those days when people used to go around and look for products in brick and Mortar shops.People are spending more and more time on the internet in researching for products right from the living room.

ALso understanding how searches work will help you how to use the search engines to market your products effectively.

AT this juncture I would recommend few search marketing links and move on …

Market Efficiency

Does a company’s stock price today represent the upcoming company’s products information?

If we know some information about a company that everybody else also knows , do you think we can still benefit from buying the stock of this company?

Are the market’s dynamics well understood? Are they manipulated ?
